Titanium Powered!

Lila had the first of two procedures on her right arm last Wednesday. Everything went as expected and the little Lila-nator is being quite a trooper. The apparatus that they fixed is bigger than we thought, probably because she is still a little peanut. Imagine in the Terminator movies when Arnold wipes out on his motorcycle and his metal arm is exposed, that's what it looks like. We will spend the next 6 weeks cranking the hand straight, and then it's on to phase 2. Outside of the normal pain, she is in great spirits and is a tough little kid. She also, like most adults that undergo surgical procedures, loves HER drugs! She's already has been taken off codiene as it lead to her staying awake, babbling and staring at her hands, singing to herself, and breaking into uncontrollable laughter in the wee hours of the morning.... the idea with the med's is to make her painfree and tired! Oh well... Enjoy the pictures....

Escape from the city....

We decided that a couple days out of Chicago would benefit our collective mental disposition, so we rented a house in New Buffalo, Michigan, a small town on Lake Michigan about 70 miles from the city. We had a great time ringing in the New Year! Rich, Tracy, Little Al and his girlfriend Natalia, Tom, Mike, Dan, and finally the "D"'s all came through making the break even more enjoyable. As you will see in the below pictures, we had blast and Jill's Christmas present, the game "Rock Band" got A LOT of use. We clearly all want to be rock gods....enjoy and Happy 2009.
